I think it's so funny that today I realized I was behind actually on being up to date on all Chad VanGaalen's work. Being a Chad VanGaalen fan is listening to other stuff for literally just a bit and then suddenly you're 4 albums and a single behind. He recently released a cover of the Nirvana song Drain You, and it's excellent. Bandcamp Friday is coming up & it's my birthday month so I am so tempted ot go a little ham even though.... I need to save money and shit because I need. To become a better human. But ... I love music so much. I will be getting a TMG album so I can do a funny thing, I will be getting at least something Chad VanGaalen. I should say that's it but... I just. Sigh. Chad VanGaalen's work is always incredible, it reaches into my heart and tells me it will be okay even if we are having to walk through life.
Today I got to share a playlist I made & listened to some playlists made by others. Whenever I do this I think about the old website 8tracks, where you could scroll different tags of playlists that people would upload. It was awesome. I would scroll 8tracks all the time, listening to a lot of horror playlists and writing playlists and fandom playlists. I posted quite a bit too. I love striving to foster a place where people can share playlists. I miss 8tracks and it's so fun to be able to share music with others. Half this uh. Webbed site, blog, whatever it is, will be trying to keep that playlist spirit alive! I gotta keep learning stuff so I can make my Davechella and Boogaloo pages their own things that I do link here but they don't link back here lol.
One of the things that I love about Chad VanGaalen is that he has at least in the past made some of his instruments. I find his sound so fascinating and I must imagine it is in part thanks to the whimsical nature of crafting your own tools to make your own music. I don't actually know all that much about Chad VanGaalen besides I listen to his music a lot, and that I watched this one video which will be below. I am just so fascinated by Chad VanGaalen. Incredible sound. I wonder how popular he is. Are people sleeping on Chad VanGaalen? I feel like it, sometimes.
