This was my first time reading Rebecca after wanting to read it for so long. It was once expressed as one of a favorite creator's fav books and I can see why. It's an interesting narrative, that had twists and turns. I think it's one of the books I listened to audiobook that I need to relisten to again, to truly let this story sink in. I have a physical copy of Rebecca I should also read. I think I find it hard to pin properly down the character of Maxim but as more is revealed, obviously it becomes easier to see what's going on. I do like Rebecca haunting the narrative and the burning of Manderly at the end did give me a bit of a shock. I did think Mrs. Danvers was going to be revealed to be Rebecca's lover, and you know. I still am not fully unconvinced. I would say this is a 5/5 book, maybe 4/5. I enjoyed the listen and I want to dig into this book again.
